Annie Bell Potts “Beauty”, 91, died Monday, October 19, 2020 at Wadsworth Glen Health Care in Middletown.

Born on November 23, 1928 outside Charlotte City, Mecklenburg County in North Carolina daughter of the late Luther Bell Potts and Creola McAuley Potts.
Annie was a woman of Strength, Character, Integrity, and Love. For the scripture says, “Who find a Virtuous woman for her worth is far above Rubies.” Proverbs 31:10.
She was a homemaker for 11 children and 4 bonus children. She moved to Meriden in 1989 and worked at the Days Inn Hotel for a few years. In her spare time, she loved to watch soap operas, mystery shows, playing cards and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Beauty was predeceased by the love of her life, George Bailey Jr., three sons; Calvin Bailey, George Bailey II and Johnny Baily, two daughters, Evelyn Potts and Annette Bailey, three grandchildren; Quadria F. Bailey, Marcellus and Javer Culbreath, two great grandchildren, Jahquis Wingard and Kawonna L. Potts as well as her brother John Potts and sister-in-law Gaither Potts.
Beauty leaves to cherish her memory, her five daughters; Patricia Ann Chapman of Paterson, NJ. Vanessa Bailey West and Georgette Bailey Derricott (Ricky) of Meriden, Rose Anne Kline of Fl., and Ruth Ann Bailey of Paterson, NJ, four sons; James Franklin of VA, Tyrone Bailey of Waterbury, and Angelo Bailey and Gregory Potts of Paterson, NJ. She is also survived by a granddaughter that she raised, Pamela Chapman as well as 32 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Victorious House of Prayer Church, 74 Cambridge St, Meriden, CT 06450. Calling hours at the church will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden is entrusted with the arrangements. Due to the current pandemic, masks and social distancing are required.
