Johnny B. “Junie” Hicks Jr., 47, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Born in Meriden, Connecticut on May 23, 1972, he was the son of the late Johnny B. Hicks Sr. and Diane Thomas who later married to Joseph C. Thomas “Stepfather.” He was employed at Waterbury Recycling Center.

Junie always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He was loud, outgoing and the life of the party, and you could always hear him from a mile away. He was always there to brighten the lives of others and because of this he was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, LaShaye Hicks, Alina Hicks and Mariah Hicks and his sisters, Devonya Inman and Dana Hicks. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, ShaVonne Inman, Jason Lewis, Inisha Texidor, JaZelle Inman, Artrell Griffin, Marcus Griffin, Tyler Inman and Silvana Barcomb. He also leaves behind 10 great nieces and nephews. Junie was predeceased by his father, Johnny B. Hicks Sr., his grandmother, Annie Mae Inman, his uncle Jimmy Inman, and his cousins, Adele Rogers, Rudolph Inman and Corey Inman.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Parker AME Zion Church, 1280 N Broad St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Family and friends may call prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
