Charles S. Douglas Jr., Korean War veteran, beloved member of his community, died December 11, 2018. He was 88. He was born in Bronx, NY on April 23, 1930 to Charles S. Douglas Sr. and Ellen Douglas (DeBattiste). He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City in 1947. He received a Bachelor of Science of Industrial Management degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1951.
Upon graduation from Georgia Tech, Charlie faithfully served his country as 1st Lieutenant in the Korean War from 1952 to 1953. He was an Army Infantry Platoon Leader and Company Commander seeing heavy combat in outposts Dale and Westview, Pork Chop Hill, and Old Baldy. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and Korean Service Medal.
