Rita J. Pouliot, 89, of South Meriden passed away peacefully on July 17, 2018 at Apple Rehab Coccomo surrounded by her family and Coccomo staff.
Rita was born in Meriden, CT and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie J. Pellerin. She was married 62 years to her predeceased husband Armand Pouliot, they lived in Magog, Quebec for several years and returned to Meriden in 1957.
Rita attended Meriden schools and graduated from high school.
She was employed at several local factories and finally retired from Cuno’s, now known as 3M Corporation, at age 65. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Angels Church and a member of several community organizations. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and caring for her home and family.
Rita is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her son Denis, three brothers and many sisters and brother in laws.
Special Thanks to the nurses, aides and staff at Coccomo, Apple Rehab for the excellent care and attention they gave her during her long stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Holy Angels Campus, 585 Main Street, South Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden CT is entrusted with the arrangements.
