Obituary for Thomas Bennett "Thom" Petrosky

Thomas Bennett "Thom" Petrosky
Thomas Bennett Petrosky, 65, died on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at his home. Born in Meriden on June 5, 1952, he was the son of the late Bennett and Helen (Wacek) Petrosky and had graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Middlesex Community College. Mr. Petrosky was employed in the aerospace industry and was a bartender at Milners Café. Thom was an avid sports fan of the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox. The love and passion he had for the sport of golf he inherited from his father while growing up and working at Benny’s Golf, his father’s golf range. Thom played guitar and loved all music, but was especially fond of old blues and jazz. He was known to dance the night away at any celebration. Thom had the ability to make friends with anyone and could light up the darkest room, bringing smiles and laughter with his witty sense of humor.
He is survived by his best friend and companion, Maureen Gesner of Meriden; a son, Joshua Hall of Florida; a stepdaughter, Courtney Gesner and her fiancé Matthew Schatzman of Middletown; one sister, Patricia Anderson and her husband Craig of East Hampton; one nephew, Jesse V. Bracken; one niece, Amanda Bracken Taylor and her husband Christopher; one great-niece, Jordana Costa; three great-nephews Tyler Costa, Kory Bracken and Damian Taylor; his godmother, Irene Toffolon; many loving cousins, friends and his beloved cat, Piper.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden. Burial will be on Monday, December 4th at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. Because Thom loved animals, especially kitties as well as sport and music, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a local animal shelter or to a high school music or sports club
