Marie G. Audet, 88, of Greenwich, CT (previously of Meriden, CT), beloved wife of the late Carl E. Audet, died at home after a long illness on Sunday, June 21, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Waterville, Maine, on June 14, 1932, she was the first child of the late Alexander and Irene (Turcotte) Fortin. A graduate of Winslow High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society and played the oboe and the xylophone in the band. After graduating from high school, Marie was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a bookkeeper until 1963 when she left to be a homemaker and start her family. Marie was an active parishioner of Holy Angels Church, a diehard Boston Red Sox fan and she enjoyed gardening, baking, and coloring. Most of all, she loved being with her family and will be greatly missed.
Marie is survived by her son, Edward Audet, of Fort Lupton, CO.; two daughters, Lisa Audet, of Greenwich, CT., and Cynthia Audet, of Alameda, CA.; eight grandchildren, Lisanne Lopez-Audet, Marissa Lopez-Audet, Annika Lopez-Audet, and Agatha Lopez-Audet, all of Thornton, CO.; Elena Santos, Luis Santos, and Mario Santos, of Greenwich, CT.; and Casey Studebaker, of Alameda, CA.; one sister, Rita Plourde of Waterville, ME; and one brother, Larry Fortin of Vero Beach, FL. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and countless devoted friends. Marie was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy and Jeanette; and two brothers, Norman and Richard.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 8:30 – 9:30 am at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, masks are mandatory and visitors are asked to pay their respects promptly. At 10:00 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Angels Church, 585 Main St., South Meriden, immediately followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane in Meriden, CT.
