Bernard ("Bernie") Frydenberg, 94, of Meriden, died peacefully on June 10, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis, their children Mark of Waltham, MA, Allen and Kristen of Montgomery, MI, devoted grandchildren Rachel, Matthew and Leah; and their "third son" John Welsh. A member of Temple B'nai Abraham in Meriden, Bernie often led services and served on its chevra kadisha (burial society). He also was associated with Chabad of Wallingford. I visited Bernie and Phyllis at their home several years ago when my grandson, Alex, graduated from the University nearby, and they graciously put me up for the night. Phyllis and Bernie were lovely hosts, and when I left, Bernie sent me off with several tomato plants from his garden.

Seems like it was yesterday (15 children) building Matzah boxes in their home for Passover with Bernie and Phyliss. Each Passover the Matzah box comes out and the memory doesn't fade. This coming Passover will have a different meaning. The class was 50 years ago.
