Evelyn M. Finnance, who recently turned 92, widow of the late Ralph B. Finnance, was called home by the Lord on June 2, 2020. She was born in Meriden on April 22, 1928, the youngest daughter of the late Alphonse N. Sattler and Martha Rook Sattler. She was from a large and proud German Alsacien family. Evelyn had three brothers, Edward, Raymond and Clarence(Jack) Sattler, four sisters, Helen, Dorothy Rehm, Florence O’Connor, and Viola Habersang.

She loved her town of Meriden. A lifelong resident, she attended St. Mary’s parochial elementary school, graduated from Meriden High School Class of 1946. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Society of Meriden Council of Catholic Women with her mother. In her early years she worked for the Miller company and was voted as the prettiest gal employee of the year. After being a truly dedicated mother of three children and caring for her mother, Evelyn went back to work for the Connecticut General Medicare Group as an administrative support personnel.
She is survived by her sons James Finnance and his wife Nancy of Granby, Robert Finnance and his wife Beth of West Simsbury and her daughter, Cynthia Francks and her husband Earle of Meriden. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Christopher Finnance, Michael Finnance and his wife Magali, Philip Finnance and his wife Marissa, Evan and Scott Finnance, Christine Ploss and her husband Ashlin, Jason and Eric Francks. She is also survived by her great granddaughter Gianna Shirley Finnance.
