Sergio Morales, 87, beloved husband of Carmen Traverso Morales, died on Friday February 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on October 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Honorio and Emilia Morales. He was a longtime Meriden resident.
Mr. Morales was employed by the Cabin Restaurant for twenty five years until his retirement, previous to that, he was employed by Howard Johnson Restaurant for many years. Sergio was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. He loved playing poker, enjoyed music, had a great sense of humor and made the best pina colada. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife of 64 years, he is survived by his three daughters, Linda Arena, Julie Pitruzzello and her husband David, Shirley Frager and her husband Joseph, six grandchildren, Jacqueline Roberts, Daniel Arena, Davey Pitruzzello, Jenna Pitruzzello, Brendan Frager, and Kevin Frager, four great-grandchildren, Kaylin Dombrowski, Camaryn Dombrowski, Leandro Arena, and Laiana Arena. He is also survived by two sisters, Gloria Morales and Cecilia Rucker and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 11 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street to Our Lady Queen of Angels, Mt. Carmel Campus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 306 Industrial Park Road #105, Middletown, CT 06457.
