Dora Leduc LaFlamme, 89, beloved wife for 58 years, of the late Joseph LaFlamme, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 29, 2019 in the presence of her son Joseph and his wife Johanne.

She was born on February 11, 1930 in Manchester, Connecticut to the late Orel and Lena Bezinet Leduc. Dora graduated from Manchester High School. She married Joseph on September 21, 1959 and moved to New Britain where she spent several years as a homemaker. After raising her family she rejoined the work force as an executive administrative assistant with Dwight Foote, Inc. Dora and Joe enjoyed their retirement years traveling the continental USA with their RV and eventually settled in both Spring Hill, FL and Clinton, CT eventually returning to Southington, CT to be close to family and friends.
Dora was a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi of New Britain and St. Dominic’s of Southington. Dora was an avid reader and would pass along her bags of books to others whether they wanted them or not. She possessed excellent computer skills and used them to keep in touch with lifelong friends and distant relatives, always passing along jokes and stories to brighten someone’s day. A lifelong animal lover, she’ll always be remembered as having a dog or a cat by her side.
She is survived by a daughter Sharon Dorval and her husband Richard of Charleston, SC, son Joseph and his wife Johanne of New Britain, CT, and son Donald of Bristol, CT. Dora also leaves behind five grandchildren: Nikki, Matthew, Brett and his wife Kaila, Jordan, Emily and fiancé Daniel along with great-grandson Gavin and another great-grandson expected in November. She is also survived by her brother Normal Leduc of Newington, CT and three nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Thursday, October 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain. Family and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, be kind to one another.
