Helen Pfeiffer, 96, wife of the late Walter R. Pfeiffer, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Evergreen Healthcare Center in Stafford Springs CT, after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on August 22, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Petrosky. She resided in Meriden all her life up to 2 years ago when she moved to Stafford Springs to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Mrs. Pfeiffer was employed most of her life in the retail business. She was a parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Meriden. She served many years as president of the O.C.E.A.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara Bickford and husband Roger, Donna Goldberg and husband Gregg, three grandchildren; Michelle Matthews and her husband Chevene, Jennifer Bushey and her husband Steven and Jason Bushey and his wife Brenda, four greatgrandchildren; Jacob Martinez, Brianna Macholl, Mackenzie and Alex Bushey, sister-in-law Julie (Pfeiffer) Kennison, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Hanley, brothers Steven and John Petrosky, niece, Joanne Amann.

Mom lived a simple life, the most important people to her was her family. She cherished the time she had to spend with her grandchildren. She was our rock. We will miss her hugs, her kisses, her talks, but most of all, we will miss her love for all of us.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 11a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, 54 Park Avenue, Meriden. Burial will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church prior to the service from 9:30 to 11a.m. For online condolences please visit

May the care and love of those around you provide comfort now and in the days ahead. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have fond memories of a Helen. She was so welcoming and kind to me as I became familiar with St Peter & Paul Church. She was great supporter of the Platt Softball team, going to games to cheer on her granddaughter, Michelle and and Coach Phos. Rest In Peace Helen.
