Frances M. Muraca, 96, wife of over 70 years to the late Gabriel J. Muraca Sr. of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 30, 2019. She was born on November 7, 1922 in Dobbs Ferry, NY to the late Antonio and Rosaria (Amato) Martorana.

Frances was active in Middletown and State Politics. She was very open minded and tolerant for her time. Mrs. Muraca was also an active member of the Middletown Homeowners Assoc. She served as President and Secretary of the PTA during her children's school years. Frances was well known for her editorials in the Middletown Press.
Frances is survived by her three daughters, Rosana Muraca of Hartford, Paula Muraca and Florence Muraca, both of Middletown; her son Gabriel J. Muraca Jr. and his wife Margaret of Island Pond, VT; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Friday, April 5th at 12 p.m. at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 19 Saint John Square, Middletown, CT 06457. Frances and Gabriel wished to be buried together in Indian Hill Cemetery, Middletown, following Mass. Gabriel served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, Military Honors will be accorded at this time. Family and friends may call at the John J.
