Holly LaFayette, 53, loving wife of over 34 years to Ed LaFayette, died on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born on December 8, 1965, she was the daughter of the late John and Bernice (Schenk) Shelberg. Holly proudly earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from CCSU and was employed by Fiserv for over twenty-five years. She loved the Green Bay Packers – even becoming a shareholder. Holly had a passion for cooking but most of all she loved her family.
Besides her loving husband Ed, she is survived by her daughter, Sammi LaFayette; her two sons, Max LaFayette and Matt LaFayette and his girlfriend, Mallory Baker; her brother, David Shelberg and his wife Joanne. She is also survived by her four nieces and two nephews.
At the request of the family, all services are private. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the Meriden Elks Lodge #35 “Chair Fund”, 120 East Main St, Meriden CT 06450. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450.
My deepest sympathies to the LaFayette family. It was a pleasure to know Holly and I hope you find comfort in knowing she is in a better place.

Dear EJ, Sammi, Matt and Max,
There are no words that can express the loss of your loving wife and your beautiful Mom. Holly's laughter and the special person she is, will never be forgotten. Unfortunately, life throws punches at us that we can not except. We don't know at the time why this happened. It takes years to figure out why. I am so sorry for your loss. Holly will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Holly.

Ed, Matt, Max & Sammi,
It has been an absolute joy getting to know your family through the Elks. Working along side Holly this past year has been a privilege. She was kind, giving and always pleasant. Her absolute love for her family was evident in everything she did. I can't begin to express how so very sorry I am for your unbearable loss. She was loved and respected by all of us at the Elks. You are a strong wonderful family and undoubtedly will make her proud. Thank you for unselfishly sharing her with all of us.

Dear Ed & Family,
I had the privilege to work with Holly these last five years at Fiserv. She happily came up to our Glastonbury office on several occasions to assist in training and being generally available to our staff after our SAP billing system conversion. Holly was tremendously dedicated, hard working and enjoyable to work with. We will miss her very much. My sincere condolences on your heartfelt loss.
