Manuel Cardona Jr., best known as “Manny” to his friends and “Juny” to his family, 60, husband of Lisa M. Cardona, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Midstate Medical Center surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. Born in Meriden on October 27, 1957, he was the son of Cecilia Bonet Cardona and the late Manuel Cardona Sr. He graduated from O.H. Platt High School. Mr. Cardona was employed by Tilcon for twenty years. He had an amazing work ethic and was proud of his job, which he loved. He had a passion for motorcycles, always looked forward to a fine meal, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was kind, caring and committed to others, a true master at demonstrating unjudging and unconditional love. He was the “Silent Superhero” to those he loved and in return loved him, he will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife of twenty-eight years and his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Brittini Cardona; his stepson, Bryan Kaminski; three sisters, Olga (Jack) Watson, Anne Cardona and Doris Johnson; one brother, David (Anita) Cardona; a sister-in-law, Wanda Cardona and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Maria Cardona and one brother, Hiram Cardona.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m.
