Barbara Ann Thompson, 75, wife of 52 years to the late Ralph H. Thompson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Midstate Medical Center. Born in Meriden on August 19, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Cefarilli and Marjorie (DeRosa) Cefarilli. She was raised and had resided in Meriden most of her life and was a graduate of Platt High School. She went on to work as a secretary for the Travelers Insurance Agency, and later as a hostess and server for the Southington/Plantsville McDonald’s for 26 years before retiring. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
Barbara was a loving wife and mother and a kind and generous friend. Her gentleness and compassion to all people, and her faithful devotion to her family was a joyful tribute to the shining beauty of her heart and soul. She had the remarkable ability to reach people in profound and positive ways and she always made people feel better and more hopeful about their lives. She was a wonderful, giving spirit who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. For herself, she enjoyed the simple pleasures; chatting and spending time with family and friends, decorating her home, cooking holiday meals and gardening.
She leaves behind by her two sons, Gary Thompson of Cheshire and Joseph Thompson of Higganum and a daughter-in-law, Melissa (Daniels) Thompson of Higganum and many, many friends.
