Jason R. Cacio, 38, of Meriden passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born in New Britain on May 5, 1979, he was the beloved son of Margaret Civali and Richard Cacio. He had resided in Meriden and had graduated from Francis T. Maloney High School.
Jason was a skilled tradesman and was part of the laborers union in Washington, D.C. He was an animal lover and cherished his cat, Tommy. Jason was passionate, kind-hearted and had an embracing smile. He was an avid sports fan of the Yankees and Giants. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a strong, determined man with a sweet soul. Jason will be eternally loved and missed.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Shirley Cacio; four sisters, Margaret Cacio, Renee (Jeff) Avery, Christina (Rich) Zayas and Stacey Matias; and one brother, Fredy Matias. He is also survived by four nieces, Bryanna, Glorimar, Julie and June and four nephews, Cameron, Carter, Tony, Richie and one great niece, Mikenah. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Cacio, his uncle, David Civali, his maternal grandparents, Alphonse and June Civali and his paternal grandfather, Pasquale Cacio.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St, Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jason’s memory may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Meriden, Attn.
