Francis (Buddy) Rogoz, 86, husband of Patricia (Bickford) Rogoz, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. All of his children were by his side. Born in Meriden on May 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Rogoz. Mr. Rogoz was a lifelong Meriden resident.
As a young man, Buddy joined his father for work at International Silver Company, then striking out on his own in the book binding business at Dominel Press, Van Way Web Company and later retiring from Mueller Trade Bindery.
He was an avid vegetable gardener and loved canning. He was a skilled fly fisherman and he never missed a New York Yankees game. He was a parishioner of St. Faustina Parish, St. Stanislaus Church.
Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Saucier (Cliff) of Southington and Sandra Tupay of Niantic; two sons, Greg Rogoz (Lorraine) of Hamden and David Rogoz of Meriden; seven grandchildren Patrick, Shawn and Nathan Saucier, Joseph Tupay, Greg Rogoz Jr., Daniel Rogoz and Rebecca Rogoz and a sister, Renee Dubois of Glastonbury. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Joan Frank.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden and at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, August 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to: Father Nadolny Good News Fund, 467 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
