Benjamin J. Flis, 81 years young, beloved, devoted husband, father, grandfather, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018. Born in Meriden on May 28, 1937, he was the son of the late George and Helen Flis. He was a graduate of local schools including H.C. Wilcox Tech. Ben continued his education at the University of Hartford Ward School of Electronics. He later worked in the field of electronics then expanded into the field of mechanical engineering. He ended his career as a devoted employee of Ulbrich Stainless Steel and Special Metals, Inc. Wallingford as a Mechanical Plant Manager and so much more.
Ben is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Gallo) Flis; his daughter, Cynthia and her daughter, Ben’s granddaughter, Marissa; his son, Bennett and his wife Kim and their daughters, Amy and Mya Flis. He is also survived by his sister, Joan McFarlin.
Ben was a man of integrity, devoted and loving to his family. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working close to nature and God’s creations. Ben will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ben’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J.
