Obituary for Florence Cox (Grieco)
Florence Grieco Cox, 87, beloved wife of the late Harry R. Cox, passed away on Wednesday, April 11th. Born in Meriden on November 10, 1930, the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Guarnieri) Grieco resided in Meriden. Florence graduated from Meriden High School. She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance as a secretary, for Connecticut National Bank as an Assistant Branch Manager, for Connecticut Telephone and Electric Corporation as a secretary, and Yankee Gas as a customer service representative until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (Cox) and Scott Tucker of Bridgeport, her daughter and son-in-law Brenda (Cox) and Robert D’Agostino of Plantsville, her son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Marcia Cox of Norwood, MA, her daughter and son-in-law Marilyn (Cox) and Donald Akikie, M.D. of Naples, FL, her grandchildren, Brittney and Alyssa D’Agostino, Connie Tucker, Michael Marks, Daniel and Kate Akikie, Kenneth Jr, Brian, Jeffrey and Timothy Cox, her nephew, Thomas Grieco and her niece and partner, Karen St. Arnauld and Cecilia Hayes. She was predeceased by her brother, Ralph Grieco, her sisters, Grace St. Arnauld, Constance Nowakowski, and Lena Gagne and her nephews, Bruce St. Arnauld and John Grieco.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 16th, at 9:15 from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden and at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden, for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
