Oh, So many wonderful memories of my late childhood years, age 10 to 16, summers at their house. She was always joyful, happy and ready with some great Polish food
in fact I think I had my first gawumpkies there, ate kielbasa for breakfast, and learned to whistle ‘roll out the barrel’ You see, we had to play music in order to eat, a great incentive, aunt Nellie!. We were never key bored...Yes, we worked for tunes, and later read cartoons- comics books. It was a teenage paradise.
She and Andy gave us music and laughter...Summer nights, after hiking and biking, us boys played accordion around the table as Andy joined in on harmonica while she clapped with a smile. She was a gentle and kind wonderful soul, a special loving human being with sparkling eyes.
my wife Daniele and I -and my sister Laura, who was the last to visit her- send our condolences to the entire family: Steven, Peter, Bruce and James, and will never forget Nellie of Makuch, Queen of Merry Meriden!
