Robert A. Johnson, 60, died on February 23, 2018 unexpectedly. Born in Middletown on March 31, 1957, he was the son of Timothy and Cheryl (Seaburg) Johnson and had graduated from Berlin High School. Bob was employed by the family business, Bigelow Electric as an electrician. Since he was a child, Bob spent his days tinkering with all things mechanical and had a natural talent and ability to repair anything. He was passionate about engine building, motorcycles and stock car racing. He created laughter wherever he went, had one liners that couldn’t be topped and made you laugh until you cried. He was adored by his grandchildren and they were the absolute center of his world.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Jenni Mierzejewski and her husband Matthew and Allyson Mildrum and her husband Lucas; seven grandchildren; his sister, JoAnn Bigelow and her husband, Randy; his two brothers, Ronald Johnson and his wife Lori and Gary Johnson and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved cousin, Scott Seaburg in 2010.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be private.
