Katie Wadenklee (Hamilton)
Wadenklee, Katie Elizabeth (Hamilton), 39, of Meriden and formerly of Manchester, died unexpectedly on Wednesday November 29, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Scott Wadenklee. Born in Meriden, she was the only daughter of Richard Hamilton and Joy (Potoniec) Hamilton. Katie had previously worked at Mustangs Unlimited and Lyman Orchards, but her proudest and most fulfilling role was that of mother to Maggie Joy, the light of her life. Katie was very involved in Maggie’s activities and was often seen at her elementary school, volunteering in various capacities. She was also the co-leader of Maggie’s Girl Scout troop. Katie graduated from East Catholic High School in Manchester in 1996.
In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, she is survived by her brother David Hamilton and his wife Tina of Manchester and their three children, Kevin, Emma and Colin; and her brother Michael Hamilton Sr. and his wife Justina of New London and their two sons, Michael Jr. and Liam.
A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at John J. Ferry & Sons, 88 East Main Street in Meriden on Friday December 8th, from 5:00-7:00.
