Georgiana Rogers (Graveline)
Georgiana Rogers, 84, beloved wife of the late Raymond Rogers, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Meriden Center after a long battle with Alzheimers. Born in Meriden on December 7, 1932, daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Graveline. Georgiana was a lifelong Meriden resident.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Woods, Helen and Henry Cortes, Joanne and David Shelberg, Rae and Dan Otlowski, and Lisa and Bob Dorzens; grandchildren, Brett Woods, Henry & Joanne Cortes, Vincent Papallo III, Kristen and Jason Gawel, AJ and Melissa Cortes, Eric Papallo, Ashley Cortes, Jennifer and Rusty Smith, Priscilla and Matt Derosier, Nicole Shelberg & fiancée David Wright, Joshua and Jess Shelberg, Chris Otlowski, Cadi Otlowski, Steven Dorzens and Rebecca Dorzens; great-grandchildren, Avery Dadio, Colin and Logan Gawel, Evan and Gabriella Cortes, Landon Rivera, Jaxson Smith, Emma & Cara Derosier, and Cole and John Shelberg; sisters-in-law, Gladys Norke, Mary Rogers, Patty Marks and Donna Keileher; brothers-in-law, George Norke and many nieces and nephews. Special mention to Roger Norke and 2nd son Chick. Friends who were like family, Ronnie and Barbara Burnt and their sons. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Raymond Rogers, her sisters, Annette Graveline and Theresa Thompson, her brothers, Edgar Graveline, Philip Graveline and Benny Graveline.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Thursday, October 12th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 22 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Meriden Center 845 Paddock Avenue, Meriden, CT 06450. Our special heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful people and care that mom received at Meriden Center all these years. Special mention to Rosemary, Casey, Chantee & Pat!! You got me through so much.
