Emery A. Breau Jr., 62, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut after a brief illness. Born in New Bedford, MA on June 27, 1954, he was the son of the late Emery A. Breau Sr. and Doris (Menard) Breau. Emery resided in Tolland, CT for the majority of his early years before moving to the Greater Hartford area for the remainder of his life. Mr. Breau graduated in 1972 from Windham Technical High School in Windham, CT where he studied drafting. After graduation, Emery spent 15 years at the Hartford Provision Company before moving on to becoming a limousine driver, where in 1991, he was awarded “Chauffeur of the Year” for the entire country. After many years on the road, he decided upon a career change and dedicated the last 25 years to the plastic manufacturing industry, most of which were at ProPlastics in Cromwell, CT before they were purchased by Plastic Design Inc. located in Middletown, CT where Emery spent his last years working. Emery was a kind and simple man who took great pleasure in being with his family, especially his two grandchildren, Emily and James. He absolutely cherished his 1964 Ford Galaxie, which he was in the process of restoring and was also a member of the “Over the Hill Gang”, a classic car club where he made many friends and traveled the state attending car shows. The annual fishing trip to Maine held a special place in his heart as it was the setting for so many memories with friends and family. His passion for cooking was well known and was often sought after for family gatherings to make his specialty; deviled eggs or pineapple upside-down cake. His other interests included rooting for the Red Sox and NY Giants as well as watching NHRA drag racing. Emery was a special man who touched many, many people and will be greatly missed.
Emery is survived by his son, Jeremy A. Breau and his wife Jamie of Meriden, CT; his grandchildren, Emily, James and a 3rd grandchild, who is due in early May of this year; his sister, Annette Albert and her husband Robert of Arlington, VT; his brother, Richard Breau and his wife Darlene of Granby, CT and his sister-in-law, Ruth Breau.
