Obituary for Edward Kaemmer

Edward “Ed” Ralph Kaemmer, 84, passed away peacefully March 13, 2017. Born the son of the late Ralph and Edna Kaemmer on January 8, 1933, Ed was a lifelong Meriden resident.

Graduating from Meriden High School in 1949, Ed was an outstanding athlete that excelled in basketball, baseball and soccer. He went on to sign with the St. Louis Browns (the Major Baseball team now known as the Baltimore Orioles).

Following his service to the United States Army, Ed returned to Meriden and resumed work alongside his father at the E. J. Kaemmer and Son’s Dairy, until 1963, when it was sold to Guidas Dairy where he continued his employment.

He leaves behind his son David Kaemmer and wife Kathy Kaemmer of Chapel Hill, NC, daughter Dale Kaemmer and her husband Bob Grosse of Truckee, CA and Diane Kaemmer and her husband Dr. David Henderson of East Haddam, CT. Also, two grandchildren Ian and Quinn Kaemmer.

Truly a man of no fuss, no memorial will be held.
